Marquell Beckwith is a member of the Birmingham Iron, a member of the newest professional league, the Alliance of American Football, or better knows as the AAF. The former Troy and Alabama State Running Back from Montgomery, Alabama is ready to show the professional ranks that he is ready to ball out.

The Iron noticed Beckwith after his performance in the Spring League showcase he played in back in July. “I had a pretty solid week of practice and finished up with a good game to end the week,” said Beckwith. He finished that game with 47 yards on 5 carries, averaging 9.4 yards per carry. He also has experience with the Tennessee Titans as he was invited to their Rookie Camp his rookie season in 2017.

Beckwith will bring some electricity to Iron Nation in Birmingham. He is a versatile Running Back who can run and catch the ball out the backfield. His game has proven he can line up as a receiver and consistently win against the defender. His biggest strength is his knowledge of the game. Add that to his speed, his vision, his pass catching skills, and his ability to protect his Quarterback as a pass blocker. He is sure to be a fan favorite.

At the end of the day, the NFL is the ultimate goal for Beckwith, but the AAF is the perfect platform for him and other players to showcase their skills in order to ultimately make the NFL. “I’m thankful and grateful I can get another chance to show my God given talents,” he said. He feels he has put in the proper work this offseason and is ready to be the best player in the league. “I have a lot of things that played a role in motivating me, including my kids, my family, my goals, the critics, my successes, my failures, where I came from, and where I want to go,” he said.
