Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
For me this season I had no individual goals set for myself. The main goal that I wanted to accomplish was preparing the defensive line to be and play as aggressively as possible and to prepare everyone in my position room to play in games. I wanted to make sure that my teammates and I get better every day we practiced.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I am a leader on whatever team or position I find myself in. I am extremely vocal and open when talking to others and I am someone my teammates can look up to. They would also say that I am a very smart, tough, and resilient person being able to face adversities and hardships and 1.) push through them all and 2.) not allow them to distract or detour from the goals and mission of the team. I am someone who leads by example and strives to push others to be better.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When watching the film I always break down each OL individually to see what type of player they are. Whether they are vertical setters or jump setters in pass protection and how aggressive they are in run blocking. Looking at the stances and splits of the OL can tell what type of scheme they are running and using the location of the RB tells which direction they are most likely to run. Using this information I can then tailor my game to give me advantages that put me in better positions to make plays.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The biggest thing that separates me from the other prospects is my versatility to play any position on the DL from a wide 9 tech to a 0 tech. The drive and hustle that I show on film are something that can not be coached. When watching film you can see that I am always chasing the ball and show up on the tape multiple times whether it’s a short run or long pass.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Currently I work out and train with my strength and conditioning staff at school 5-6 days a week.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a very fast learner and can understand whatever defensive concept is presented in front of me. I can adapt and I know I possess the tools needed to be successful. Whether it’s football or off the field I am also in the right place at the right time doing whatever needs to be done.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am a person who is extremely committed to whatever organization that I am apart of. I know I possess the mindset and physical traits needed to be successful in any league and I have shown that while I can play at a high level of football I am nowhere near my ceiling. Fortune favors the bold and I just ask that you watch the film over the last four years and see how much of an asset I can be for your organization and team.
