Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
I went into last season with the main goal of becoming a back to back conference champion. Winning the conference championship in back to back years really spoke on the grit and determination of the team, and it made that victory even more rewarding. I also set out with the personal goal of receiving All-Conference recognition, and ended the season 1st Team All-Conference Tight End in the Midwest Conference.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Committed, Competitive, and Passionate.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I will be training this offseason to better myself as an athlete and to make myself more dynamic on the field. Focusing on my overall strength and becoming more explosive are two of my main focuses in my training.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I like to prepare for games by watching film on the specific players or positions that I will be facing throughout the game. This allows for me to find different tendencies that my opponents will have in particular situations, and help to identify their weaknesses as well as their strengths. Knowing my opponents tendencies allows for me to play at a faster pace on game day.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I have played a wide variety of positions offensively, starting with Quarterback throughout High School and evolving into the H-Back position throughout my collegiate career. This has given me a good understanding of different offensive schemes and allowed me to be more versatile while on the field. In my last two seasons, I lined up as a Wingback, Fullback, Tight End, and in the slot in various bunch formations. I have a lot of experience in many different positions and situations and I believe that is what sets me apart from other competitors.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One of my biggest strengths is my energy and passion that I approach the game of football with. Whether it’s practice, workouts, or gameday; as a leader, I always try to bring the same level of intensity and passion to better myself and my teammates.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
What makes me valuable to a professional organization is my willingness to succeed. I will do whatever it takes to find my place within an organization to help them win football games now and in seasons to come.
