Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Smart: a high I.Q for the game, smart decisions with the football, minimum turnovers, clock management, game management.
Athletic: When the play breaks down, I am able to extend the play or when the pocket collapses. Mobile with good speed. Good hips and footwork.
Versatile: Able to do more than just sit in the pocket and throw or hand the ball off. Able to play in my role formations and the ability to learn and play multiple positions.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Mostly mechanical work and technique at the Quarterback position. Also, speed train and work on the combine drills. Lastly weight train and put on a few pounds.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I look for the top 3 coverages, their top 3 blitzes, their top 3 fronts. I also like to look at their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down tendencies. I pay attention to what players come in for certain packages like nickel and dime. I look at what plays the other teams ran against them to be successful and try to find similar plays in our playbook so we can put them in the game plan.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me from other QBs is the fact that when I’m at my highest or my lowest, I remain the same way, calm, cool, and collected. I don’t take credit for my success ever, it’s always the coaches that installed the game plan, the players around me, and the offensive line because without them, I am nothing. I don’t care about stats, I just want the win.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Leadership on and off the field. I feel like I have the natural ability to make people want to follow me. Great character guy on and off the field. Also trustworthy, I am a guy that coach can sleep easy at night knowing that his QB isn’t somewhere getting in trouble.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
If you draft me, you’ll get a guy first to enter the stadium and one of the last to leave. I am a hardworking guy and you’ll get my best each and every day. I am a fast pace learner and I pick up on things quick.
