Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
There were a lot of goals that I set for myself going into my final season of college. The ones that came to my mind first was to be the best leader I could possibly be, have a breakout senior season, and enjoy every bit of the ride.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
God Given Talent.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
To train for the draft, I will have laser like focus. If it doesn’t involve something that can assist me to reaching my goal, I do not want to be around it. I will be working like I never have before during training and out of training, that way I can reap from the hard work that will be sowing.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When I am watching film, the first thing I try to figure out is the weaknesses of the Center and the two Guards. Once I have discovered them, I then begin to identify their strengths so that I can come up with a plan on how I will go into the game that week. I then pay attention to my scouting report and I try to identify the opponent’s favorite plays and the plays they run out of different formations.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
The first thing that separates me from other players at my position is that the Lord blessed me with a very fast first step and quickness, which allows me to be very destructive in the opposing team’s backfield. Secondly, the heart or dog factor plays a huge role in my separation from my peers. I am a get the job done by any means type of player and by possessing that mentality, it allows me to be meet the standards that are set for the defense.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I posses many strengths on and off the field. I will bring leadership, passion, and I will also bring a learning attitude. I am the person that has the attitude of the job will be done. I am a positive person, I attract positivity and people love to be around me, and I am the person that when things get hard you should look at because I am going to find a way to change things in our favor. Football is something that you truly have to love and I love this sport from the bottom of my heart.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My final sales pitch is simple. The most dangerous person in the room is the person that has their back against the wall because they have nothing to lose. I know how to go and get it out of the mud. I never had the easy route to success because the Lord always allowed me to go through some things so that I can learn and grow from it. You will not find another player like me, although there may be some similar, they don’t possess that “IT” factor that God has blessed me with. This is something that not only helps me, but it helps the team that I am on because it makes my teammates want to match my passion and energy. You can coach heart, there are some players that may be amazing at combine testing, there are others that may be good in other areas, however as for myself, I am a “FOOTBALL PLAYER”. I am the person that you want on the field when the game is on the line. I am the person that is going to give you 120% each and every day. I am the person that once entering your environment, you will have no choice but to say, “It’s something different about that kid, he is special”. Finally, I will be a person you want to chose because due to my relationship with God, everything attached to me is blessed, which means so will the organization that I am apart of.
