Keith Russell Jr: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Keith Russell Jr
School: Missouri Western State University
Position: OL/OT
Height: 6-5
Weight: 305

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

For my team I wanted to have a winning season and get the program headed in the right direction on my way out. I set two main personal goals this season-one to be named First Team All Conference and the second to be named All American. I was only able to achieve one of these personal goals, but my team had a successful season and are off in the right direction for next year.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I’m a player who you can count on in the final seconds of the game. Also, I’m the most physical player in the field and I love to finish all of my blocks.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I like to watch my feet in correlation with my hips-Did I open to soon? Is my weight centered or is it forward/towards the back. These are just a few of the small things I study and reflect on while watching film to help myself be more successful in the next game.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My ability to play all five positions as well as being able to pull and make blocks in open space.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I plan to workout with Coach Fears, my college strength coach. I plan to focus on my lower body and explosive movements as well as my speed and agility.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My attitude and my desire to improve are a few of the qualities I can contribute that will make a positive impact on any team. In addition, I can play all five positions on the offensive line. I have the athletic ability to pull and create running lanes with different blocking angles. In my five year college career I have successfully played in 4 different offensive schemes. Off the field I am pretty low key. I enjoy fishing spending time with friends and family.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I would tell the NFL and any other professional leagues – that if given the chance, I will show you that you have made the right choice. I will not be out worked, out hustled or out played!
