Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
At the end of the 2018 season 1st Round Playoff loss, the team made a promise to work even harder to not only get back into the playoffs, but go deep into the playoffs. Sadly our season ended in the Elite 8, but we won the MAC Conference for the third year in a row. While also breaking the MAC Conference winning streak with 28 wins.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
That I come in every day with the mindset to get better. My energy level is unmatched, from practices to the games you can never tell the difference. If the team needs something done I’ll be the first to sacrifice for the team.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I always look for tendencies, I don’t only watch one person I watch the whole defense. I look for what everyone does on 1st, 2nd, and especially 3rd down. I look at how they defend certain personal. But, it always starts on Sunday’s. Soon as the coaches share the film I usually text Coach Greco and ask him couple questions to make sure I’m on the right page on what the defense does.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I will outwork anyone from start to finish, and I am a student of the game. I am always open to learning more about the game. I learn playbooks very quickly, read coverages, duel threat type of player. But most importantly I can win on 3rd and 4th down.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Definitely the overall game such as speed, agility, and staying conditioned. I have a great trainer in who I been working out for the past 4 years in Nick Campanaro. Each year we work on exploding in and out breaks. Everything we do relates to every possible scenario my body could face in a season. While also studying all professional league games, understanding play calls, option routes, releases, and coverages.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Work ethic, because that’s all I ever known. I was always taught to be the best you have to work like the best. I never get comfortable I want to set the bar higher and higher each day. I will bring leadership mentality, lead the way by not always screaming but by doing the little things right to show and lead in the right direction. But mostly, bring the family mentality to the team. I got the team back and will always be there for them through thick and thin, and that they could call me for anything.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I am someone who makes the most out of my opportunities. I am someone who is willing to do anything for the team no matter what it is my job as a player is to contribute to the team in every possible way. My love for this game is unmatched. Any teammate or coach that I ever played with can tell you that, I am a huge impact on and off the field.
