Justen Ramsey: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Justen Ramsey
School: Indiana State University/Ball State
Position: DT
Height: 6-0
Weight: 305

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I wanted to become first team all conference and lead my team to the FCS playoffs but that didn’t happen because of injuries and other things.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I think they’d say I was a team player and that I would do anything to help the team win because I did. I played my role very well and I worked hard even thought things didn’t go as planned.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I first look at how I’m coming off the ball then my eyes. Those are the two most important things. Then I look at my effort to the ball and during the play because you can’t coach effort and I think that I brought effort every snap.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I think that I’m a really good true nose tackle that can stop the run and disrupt the pass as well as any one else in the country. I also think that I’m willing to take coaching and apply it to my game immediately. When I’m on the field everything’s just clicks fast and I’m able to adapt just as quick as things change. I play to the final whistle and I play hard. I’m a great teammate and I like to help/ uplift others when times are tough.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I’ve been training non stop since our season ended. I lift in the mornings and do football/ speed/ technique drills in the afternoon. I do give my body time to rest but I hit it hard when I get back out there. If you’d like you can visit EPA training page on twitter to see some of my workouts.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I’m stronger than most guys and I’m saying that because, not to brag or anything but it’s just how it’s always been. I can hold gaps and disrupt the run game like a pro and I’m quick for a 300 pounder. I’m a tough guy and would love to help guys reach their full potential while I reach mines. I’m a really helpful person when it comes to watching film and correcting mistakes. I’m a people person and I just carry myself in a way that is caring for others and putting their needs above my own. Very selfless.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

It would be an honor to come and play for any professional team in my future not only because of how it can impact my life but the lives of the people around me and yours. I realize that many people don’t get the opportunity to do this and I’d be extremely grateful for this opportunity. IM READY TO GET TO WORK!
