Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My number one goal was to help my team win a championship. The second goal I had set was to have the best year I’ve ever had and be the best Nose in the conference. I also set the Goal that I would be an All American by the end of the season.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say I’m the smartest defensive linemen they’ve ever seen. I’m quick and hard to block.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
To improve my game I am constantly looking at my technique and always trying to improve in areas I lack.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The thing that separates me from others at my position is my Brain. People don’t realize it but you make more plays when you know what your opponent is doing or trying to do. Knowledge is power and the more I know the better I am. I’m a student of the game and I’m thankful that my coach has taught me so much.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Work on my techniques and become quicker and stronger and sharpen my brain power more.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’m a team player. I put the team before myself and I am a people person. I’ve grown to become good at interacting with people because throughout my college career I’ve went to schools and talked to kids, young athletes, and young adults. I’m all about bringing my teammates along and helping the team get better. I believe in getting what you worked for, so I will bust my tail to make the roster and contribute on the field. I’m comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I’m one of a kind. I understand the importance of leverage, aggressiveness, hands, and quickness as a defensive linemen. I’m gonna be able to contribute to the success of the defensive line because I study the game like a preacher studies the Bible. I would contribute to the team because of my work ethic, and will power. Giving up is not an option. I don’t accept defeat by any means but I do learn from it. Everyday is an opportunity to grow and get better. If I don’t demand a double team then I’m not doing my job. I just need the opportunity to prove it.
