Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

a.) We prepare every season to win a championship. This year we showed improvement from last season and making progress season to season is a priority. We continued to get better as a team and made some nice adjustments when faced with some personnel changes. b.) We were in meaningful games through the end of the schedule and played our best ball at the end of the season. c.) I’m leaving the program as the all-time leader in pass completions, passing yards, touchdowns accounted for and single game offensive and passing records. That’s a testament to our offensive players and defense, as well as our coaching staff. I’m proud of the production and body of work.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say I am a competitor, eager to win, and come in the facility everyday trying to get better. I am a hard worker, consistent, and determined to put our team in the best position to be successful. Being someone who can be counted on day in and day out is important to me. They recognize I never wavered. I spent my entire college career at UNCP and committed to the program 100%.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When watching film in terms of self-scout, I focus on aspects such as pocket awareness, subtle movements, anticipation, and footwork. This is my focus because as a QB you need to be able to avoid, avoid quickly, and deliver the ball to a spot-on time. In terms of watching a defense, I look for tendencies and any keys the defense may give away in relation to the situation (down, distance, and time left in the game).

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I can make every throw on the field and extend plays with my feet. I’m a 5-year starter and 4-year captain, so I have played a lot of football and will know how to react in all situations. I have the mindset of coming in everyday with a fresh slate. I am going to earn it every day.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I played in the FCS Bowl in Daytona Beach, Florida and put good things on film. I am training with Test Football Academy down in South Florida.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths on the field consist of always coming in and wanting to get better and learn something new. I’m coachable. I want to learn. I am accurate and athletic. I can make every throw on the field from the pocket and when things break down, I can make people miss and extend the play. Off the field, my strengths consist of being someone who is genuine to their teammates and want them to be successful. I am someone who looks to positively impact those around me on the team and in the community. I want our organization to be successful and will come in everyday with that in mind.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I’ve played a lot of football. I move the chains passing and running. I’m a mature football player. I have experienced a lot of situations that prepared me to be a professional. Look at the film. I’m looking for an opportunity to help an organization be successful.
