Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Heading into my final season, I wanted to be captain of the team. I wanted to lead my defense and team on and off of the field. I had goals to lead the team in tackles and reach 100+ tackles. Lead my team to a bowl game and championship.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Aggressive, Fast, and Downhill.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I will train to be the best Linebacker I can be. I will work on my pass coverage and flaws to become a better Linebacker.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When studying film, I first recognize the formation. From there, I key Guards and Tackles to notice their tendencies in run/pass plays. I also read Running Backs on how they run the ball. Whether they are looking for a cut back or slow tempo. Lastly, I watch routes by the Running Back, Tight End, or Slot Receiver. Knowing these tendencies will help on Game Day.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I can play Will or Mike Linebacker. I can tackle great in space and get into pass windows. I can recognize and react fast on a play.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a leader on and off the field. I can control the defense knowing where everybody should be and the calls. I will make plays that others Linebackers wouldn’t make. Off the field, a team will never have to worry about me getting into trouble. I will volunteer in the community and always give back.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
You are getting a guy who will come in and work from day 1. I will live in the film room and never stop working until the day I retire. I can play any special teams and all three downs on defense. Each day I want to get better, I will never be satisfied for being an average Linebacker.
