Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals that I set and accomplished in 2022 were to be named team captain, encourage buy-in from my teammates through strategic leadership, and become a more well-rounded linebacker.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would tell you that I possess a strong sense of accountability for myself and those around me. They also acknowledge my relentless effort in pursuing the ball on the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
For opponent-scout I like to focus on tendencies and keys. I scenario map tendencies by combining down and distance, field position, personnel, and formation. This process helps me to condense the offenses large playbook to just a few likely options, allowing me to trigger quickly when keys confirm my assumptions. For self-scout I focus on eyes, communication, and technique. The first thing that I confirm when watching film is that I am looking at the right key pre-snap. Next, I ensure that the defensive line and secondary have received the checks and are aligned correctly. Lastly, I let the play develop and critique my technique in carrying out my assignment.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I attained my MBA from an exceptional university in one year without having a business background and within six months of transferring, I was able to establish myself as a pillar of the defense. These accomplishments serve as a testament for my ability to quickly process and assimilate new information.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have surrounded myself with a stellar team of strength, conditioning, and position coaches. I am working with each daily to improve myself in all aspects of the game.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Having played mike, will, and edge, I excel as a pass rusher, run stoper, and coverage linebacker. I am experienced in every facet of special teams. Off the field I am disciplined and always put my goals before my immediate desires which allows to stay focused on the task at hand.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I believe that my ability to learn and adapt quickly, along with my physical traits, makes me a valuable asset to any NFL or professional league team. I understand the importance of being receptive to feedback and coaching, and I am eager to continue growing and improving as a player. My dedication and work ethic are unmatched, and I am committed to giving my best effort on the field at all times. Thank you for considering me as a draft prospect.
