Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
My goals were to help lead us to a conference championship, display leadership on and off the field, and put out NFL caliber film.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Powerful, disciplined, technician.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Currently, I’m training in Oak Park, Illinois at Over The Edge Fitness. The workouts that I’m doing will help me stay in shape and prepare me to the fullest to ensure that I have a great upcoming pro-day as well as other opportunities.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When watching film, I usually observe both strengths and weaknesses of each Offensive Lineman, their tendencies as far as what they give away during certain situations such as run or pass, if their stance changes, movement, and everything in between. I also pay attention to what formations the offense may come out in, which usually gives away certain plays they may go to, depending on the amount of times they’ve ran it in previous games.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I would say my athleticism, technique, and IQ has always given me an advantage, as well as the length of my arms, which are very useful in various situationS causing me to separate from someone and/or pass rush situations. The best thing about this is that I’m very far from my peak and will continue to be a sponge and grow into a better player both physically and mentally.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field, my ability to get to the Quarterback, stay around the football, and producing will stand out because this all will be done while doing my job and staying disciplined on my assignment. Off the field, I naturally have a big heart and will be willing to help and make an impact in as many communities as I can.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I will be a valuable asset to any organization that gives me an opportunity because I have the mindset and the passion for football that allows me to perform at the highest level of play. I’ve been on the big stages in college as well as the small. Using that experience and the knowledge, I’ve gained insight on how to adjust to any situation in front of me. I may not be the strongest or fastest on the field, but my motor, effort, along with my determination will bring tangible results, making me unforgettable.
