Name: Jase Hammack
School: Mary Hardin-Baylor
Position: QB
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 230
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
We won our conference and made the playoffs. More importantly, I feel like I was able to grow my leadership skills.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say that I’m a leader and a hard worker. Somebody that’ll do anything for the team that puts us in the best position to win. They would also say that I’m tough and gritty.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m watching film I’m studying what the secondary does to tip their coverages/blitzes pre and post-snap. Then I go back and see what I can do better from the previous games. Breaking down where I went wrong on a decision or if I make a bad throw seeing what I did wrong so I can improve it.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I have a strong passion for the game and will do whatever it takes to win. I’ve won a National Championship so I know what a winning culture looks like. Also being able to stay calm throughout a game and never letting my emotions get too high or too low is very important.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I plan on training and doing a pro day. Training wise I’m going to work on agility and speed and different drills for working in the pocket and being able to always keep my base. Also, I plan on just working on basic throwing mechanics.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My leadership abilities and being able to be a guy you can count on when a play needs to be made. Loyalty is a huge thing to me and I think it’s something that is rare in today’s world.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
The game of football is special to me and it’s something that I don’t take for granted. I will do whatever it takes to play at the next level and would love the opportunity to show what I can do at the next level.
