Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I didn’t set any personal stat goals this season, I told myself that I’m just going to go out every Saturday and play at the highest level I could possibly play at. I didn’t want to focus on myself, I wanted to focus on the team. One goal I had was to become a more vocal leader on and off the field to my teammates. That’s something I worked on through the spring and summer. I accomplished that goal and stayed true to it through the season and still till this day.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I am very passionate about the game. I give 100% and can be counted on. I am a team player and always looking to help others around me. I love feedback and am always looking for ways to improve my game.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When studying practice film, I look for tendencies that I have a try to correct them so other teams can’t pick up on them. I try to stay balanced so that no one can read me and tell what I’m going to do. When studying opponents, I look at their technique and see if they take plays off. I come into the game with off the ball moves that I believe will help me dominate my opponent.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am hardworking and don’t feel like anything is owed to me. I am willing to give it my all and be coachable. I have great technique and I always want to be where the ball is.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I will continue to train and prepare myself for this opportunity. I will be focusing on my foot work and use of my hands.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field I have a nose for the ball. I am a great run stopper and love to get on a pass rush and get to the quarterback. Most interior defensive lineman like to take up space and plug gaps. I like to do that also on top of making plays. Off the field I won’t be a problem. I am a homebody so when I am not doing things for football, I will be spending time with my family catching up.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
I know this opportunity doesn’t come to many but if I am given the chance, I will not let the team or organization down. I have a lot to offer on and off the field and will be ready to give it my all when my name is called on.
