Name: Jared Saad
School: University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
Position: DB
Height: 6-1
Weight: 195
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I wanted to acquire 2 degrees in Marketing and Supply Chain Management along with having a lockdown season as a Defensive Back. I am graduating with both degrees and was again named All Conference, gave up zero touchdowns in conference and was a 4 four year starter.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I have an extremely strong work ethic year round, am a motivator and they believe that I am the best DB in the country. My teammates also mention my strong work ethic and my relentless ambition to get better on and off the field everyday.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
The first thing that I look at before and after a game, on film, is my technique. This includes, posture, physicality and the leverage I used. I then research or gather constructive feedback on where I could improve. When previewing film for an up and coming game, I study my opponents by breaking apart their plays and key tendencies.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am a tall, physical and a lockdown DB with a long arm span. I can anticipate my opponents play on the spot. I have been molded into a Hybrid DB that includes tackling, setting the edge, and flipping my hips and reading the receiver while using my high speed.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I recently played in a bowl game while I train 3-4 times per week, at a facility with 2 private trainers. I am working hard on Combine Training with strength, technique, jumping and speed. I am currently seeking an agent.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am very goal oriented, organized and competitive. I am honest, listen first and then work harder. These are qualities that develop strong family-like relationships with my coaches, teammates, professors and my own family.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Please note that I am a Run Support and a Tackling DB with man to man coverage. I will always be positive, intelligent and extremely confident. I played Nickel Cornerback, Zone and man coverage on my “Island”. I was one of the most feared DB in my conference that locked up a whole side of a field, leaving my opponent with less opportunity. Thank you for any and all opportunities, including Special Teams.
