Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
In my final collegiate season my one goal was to inspire, and motivate the younger guys in the program to stick it out, and play ball regardless of the situation. I played all four years, and seen all the bad and the good so just getting them to buy in was my main focus so that they can change the program for years to come. I felt like I succeeded in doing this job. It didn’t show from the wins or losses but we grew this year as a team and that’s the start of something new. Something that hasn’t happened in the program in 50 plus years.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would say that I’m the type of guy that will work regardless the situation. No matter what happens you can always count on me to do my job. They would tell you that I’m not ever going to give up on my team, and my coaches, I’m a fighter. And I fought all the way till the end. Even when nobody else had any fight left, I kept it going for everybody.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I focus on player tendencies. I watch the same person, or team multiple times over and over seeing the way they control their body language before and after the plays. This allows me to know exactly when I have the advantage on somebody. Which forces big plays and that’s the name of the game. Game changing plays.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The fact that I can play anything inside the front seven. I’m a 4 down player this includes every special teams. Kickoff, punt, kickoff return. I will sacrifice myself for the best possible outcome for the team. I’m simply a team player who’s willing to do whatever to just be on the field. No matter what it is if I’m asked a job I will get it done, and that’s in every phase of the game.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I’m currently on a full time workout program with a field trainer during the mornings, and afternoons, and a weight trainer at night so I’m more than prepared at any given second. I’m ready to go right now.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My football IQ. I’m truly a student of the game. I treat football how I would apply myself to my favorite subject. So film study off the field would translate to my performance on the field. I’m able to pick up on different things quickly so I know exactly what it takes to play up to everyones level. my strengths are simply getting the job done. I refuse to be anything less than great. Great players do what they are asked.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
If you want somebody who’s going to do whatever it takes to better the team I’m your guy. I simply do my job, have fun, and enjoy the process at all times I understand that football is a game, and that it can be taken away from me at any time. So I’m still here fighting for my opportunity to show the world that it’s a star that just needs a shot. And whoever takes a chance on me will not regret it. You’re getting a complete football player. It’s just that simple.
