Jaiden Cole: 2023 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Jaiden Cole
School: Louisiana Tech
Position: S
Height: 5-11
Weight: 195

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The main goal I had going into the 2022 season was a conference championship but we obviously fell short of that. But I also had a goal of not allowing a touchdown in man coverage all season and to finish the season with 5 sacks.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

The one thing my coaches and teammates would say about me is I’ve always done right. No issues on or off the field. Also that I pick up on the game plan and schemes easily each week and willing to help people around me that’s struggling with it.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

The first thing I look at when I’m watching film is the quarterback’s pre snap routine and snap cadence. We blitzed a lot so I would try to get my timing right with that. I also look TE stance and alignments to get a tip of runs and passes. Wasn’t in man coverage a lot this season but watch slot receivers releases and alignment also. Would always finish with that teams top run plays if I was playing more in the box that week.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from from other players in my position is being able to adjust to things on the go whether that’s in game changes from the coaches or motions we haven’t seen before on film. I’m also willing to be involved in the special teams side of things whether I’m a starter or not.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Right now I’ve been training in Monroe , Louisiana where I’m from. Working on more change of direction and explosive drills. Also focusing more on my technique in coverage.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

A strength I will bring to a team is being able to blitz. That’s something I take pride in and feel can really turn the game around. Also being able to communicate on and off the field. I believe I’ve been around enough players and coaches to hold myself to a veteran level.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I honestly just need my foot in the door and you won’t regret it. I can ball and I’m confident in that just need an opportunity to show it.
