Jack Beulke: 2023 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Jack Beulke
School: Western Illinois University
Position: P
Height: 6-1
Weight: 193

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goal heading into this season was to make a difference by providing a spark during special teams. Being a punter you have to control what you can control. I felt that I did that by helping our punt/field goal units out.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

Coachable and reliable. I’m the type of guy that gets along with everyone. I understand that football at this level is a business, so understanding when to be serious and when to be loose is essential for team camaraderie and team success.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

Being a punter it’s important to understand the opposing teams punt returner and understanding the block looks that are coming at you. I felt like myself and the punt team did well as we allowed -7 return yards all season and never got a punt blocked.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My punting operation time, directional punting and athleticism. Being able to throw and run is something that sets myself apart from most other guys at the position.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

Continue to punt and workout here in Minnesota. Take lessons and experience learned from the College Gridiron Specialist Showcase earlier this month, then hopefully get a pro day with the University of Minnesota.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths of being a great teammate on and off the field. Taking care of business and making sure that I control what I can control. Staying cool, calm, and collective is essential for all players, but it is extremely crucial for specialist. In most games at any level it usually comes down to special teams.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Punting is a skill where it does not come down to who can punt it the highest or the farthest. My film and stats show that punting comes down to knowing situations to put teams in a position to succeed. The past two seasons I have punted 118 times and only had one blocked. Only 3 touchbacks to go along with those 118 punts. I have thrown a touchdown and have set myself apart from others with pinning opponents deep on their own side of the field. I’m looking for an opportunity to continue proving myself and representing my family, friends and hometown of Wanamingo, Minnesota.
