Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
This year I just wanted to grow as a player. Just get better at my position to perform to the best of my abilities. Accolades are cool, but being able to better my game was my main focus and I believe I did that.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I am a great leader. Not only leading by example but vocally. They would also say that I am a very athletic TE that can play anywhere on the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film on the opposing team, I look at the defenders stance in certain situations. Whether he has all the weight on his hands or light on the hands to determine whether he is going to either give a hard rush or sit back and read. Also pay attention to how the linebackers and safety’s drop to determine where I will sit in a hole if they are in zone or how I will defeat the defender if they play man.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is that I am a versatile TE. You can put me in the slot, wideout, or even in the box. I can create that 1v1 matchup with not only my size, but speed also which catches many defenders off guard. My athleticism plays a major part that will separate me from other prospects in my position.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I plan on training with my trainer Coach Alex & Coach George who has been training me since high school. They started there own training program called “About U” who produces most of the top athletes to come out of NYC.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a great blocker. Blocking is a strength for me being that all through high school I played offensive tackle until Senior year when I made the transition to TE. Catching is important for a TE, but a TE who can do both catching & blocking is very important at the next level.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL/CFL or any other pro leagues?
No matter where I end up, you will be getting a hard working player that is coachable and willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win. Whether it’s changing my position or anything I will give a team my all no matter what it is. All I need is the opportunity to prove myself and you won’t regret it.
