Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I had a number of goals set for my final season. I mainly wanted to be a player that could help our team win, be someone that made it easier for other players on the defense to do their job. I also wanted to make first team all conference, a goal that I fell short of, however I earned an honorable mention. I also wanted our team to get back to winning tradition like years past, and while we fell a couple games short at 7-3, I feel as if we helped bring upon a change to get back to winning.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think they would say I am someone who you don’t have to worry about to do what’s needed. I think they would say I am a leader who wouldn’t ask someone to do something I haven’t already done.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I usually start by watching my own footwork/get off as that usually indicates how the rest of the snap is going to play out. After that I watch the footwork of the player I will be going against, I watch to see if he has any presnap tells, such as to indicate a run or pass or when the ball is going to be snapped. I also focus on how high or low their hands are and how much they do or don’t open their hips. And then after studying individual opponents, I will put myself in different positions on the dline throughout the film so that I could be ready to play any of those positions if needed.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
A willingness to learn the game at a higher level. If something isn’t working for me then I’m not to prideful to admit it and work on improving it. I put time and effort into watching film and making it meaningful. I take pride in doing my part in the teams success, I never want to detract from it. I think being coachable is a huge part to a teams success as well.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently working out with ETS-Green Bay to stay in athletic form and continue getting stronger and faster.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Resiliency, emotional control, mental toughness, leadership and a winning is everything attitude. I will also be someone who represents the organization with respect and anyone who I could meet will think highly of the organization based on how I conduct myself.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am someone who will grow and do everything they can to help the team win. I held my teammates to a high standard and held myself to a higher standard. To me they are not just teammates, but family. I can be a game changer, stats don’t tell the whole story.
