Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Going into my final season, my main focus was being an exceptional teammate. I take pride in being someone that my coaches and teammates can depend on. In order to achieve this, I needed to be in the best shape possible, physically and mentally. I chose not to focus on any reward or accolade because I have no control over that.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Violent, undeniable, finisher.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Training at a privately owned gym in Tempe. Building my body, treating it like a machine. Bigger, stronger, faster is the key to success. Being physically dominate is crucial on the football field, especially at the fullback position. Focusing on my quickness through the hole and explosion on impact.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Film doesn’t lie. I watch myself and dissect areas of my game that need to be improved. The beautiful thing about football is that there is always room for improvement. I watch defensive schemes, and how they are designed to stop offenses. Understanding how to break down defensive schemes is something I enjoy. I want to learn as much as possible.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My grit. No matter my circumstance, I focus on the goal at hand. True hard work overcomes any situation. Not only my grit, but my undeniable want to put the teams best interest above my own. I choose to put away my personal agenda for the good of the team. I’m here to push my team to excellence.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’m the type of man that will bring the type of energy and resilient attitude that every team needs. Positive energy and resilience are contagious on and off a football field. You can expect me to bring both every single day. Hard work and mental toughness are minimum requirements to play this game, everyone at the professional level has them. Not everybody has positive energy and resilience for the team to feed off of.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I’m here because I’m in love with this game. Football is the best game on the planet and we are blessed that we are apart of it. I’m ready to continue my football career at the professional level. I know my role and am excited to bring my energy and work ethic to the professional ranks. Whichever team gives me an opportunity will be glad they did.
