William Jewell’s Senior Defensive Back, Donte’ Colum, signed a professional football contract with the West Texas Warbirds. The Merriam, Kansas native will enter training camp in late February.
Donte’ started 20 games for the Cardinals from 2017-2019, which included 117 tackles, 7 interceptions, 21 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 defensive touchdowns. He was awarded All-Conference honors twice at William Jewell.
The Gridiron Crew has helped Donte’ receive offers to play professionally here in the States and in Europe, and he ultimately decided to sign with West Texas. “I am extremely thankful and blessed on the opportunity to further my playing career at the professional level. It has been a long and incredible journey to get to this point, and I’m ready to get started,” said Donte’.
The West Texas Warbirds are a professional indoor football team located in Odessa, Texas. They are a member of Champions Indoor Football and this will be the team’s inaugural season.
