Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The main goal I set for myself in my final collegiate season was to improve tremendously from the year prior. I wanted to have 10 interceptions, 50 tackles, be placed on 1st team for my conference, and become an All American. I had goals for my team as well which included winning the conference National Championship. I was able to meet most of my goals but also fell short to some including the 10 interceptions and winning a national championship.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I’m a God fearing man that leads people with his actions. They would say I’m someone whose continuously working hard to grow and be the best version of myself on and off the field. In addition, they would say that I’m a leader who impacts the team as a whole and strives to keep everyone’s energy up.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying film, first I like to watch the receivers and their moves and tendencies off the line of scrimmage. Then after the game plan is put into place, I watch the offense as a whole and try to plug in the certain play calls according to the formations. After that, I like to watch the quarterback and see how/what he reads pre snap and also how he reads his receivers on passing situations. I’m very detail oriented when watching myself, I’m very particular about everything that I do. I don’t ever want to become content with my performance. There is always room for growth. I like to watch my feet, breaks, how I come to balance on tackles, and my different techniques at the line of scrimmage when playing press man.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other pro prospects in my position is that I have experience playing at many different positions on both sides of the ball. I also understand defensive and offensive schemes and have a high football IQ.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan is to train hard and prepare for professional opportunities. I want to increase my speed and to continue to work on my footwork. I look to improve on my weaknesses while continuing to grow my strengths as well.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
A strength that I bring to a team is my ability to lead and bring people together to strive for one goal. I’m able to use my unique athletic abilities to make tough plays on the field. I pride myself in treating people with kindness and respect on and off the field. My ability to be a light in times of darkness is something that sets me apart from the rest personally, professionally & in the team setting.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m an educated, God fearing man who has put my all into sports for my whole life. I have been working hard to get to this point in my life and I don’t plan on stopping now. If you choose me you will not regret it. I will never quit and always focus on bettering myself, I will never get complacent. I’m a polished player who still has room for improvement and will strive to be the greatest player that I can be.
