Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My number 1 goal as always was to be the best leader and role model for our team to take after going into the season which helps winning fall into place. Outside of that I wanted to be an All conference, all region and all American player which I was able to accomplish all 3 this season.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I know my coaches would say I’m a player who just works. I’ve always been in love with the process and the work it takes to be great. Being great at this game is not easy and it requires time and sacrifice which I’ve given all of myself too this game in my years playing.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I like to watch a lot of NFL film that is accessible to me through our film app. I like to mirror that with mistakes I made in games to see what I did that could be corrected. For example staying square in my pass set, the first and second steps of a run block and other nuances like that. Seeing the best in the world do it will help show you what works and what doesn’t.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I will always say the work. I was blessed to have decent size and ability but what will always put me in a different category will be the work I’m willing to put in to see the desired results. This is from a team and individual aspect. Especially at offensive line it takes tons of extra reps to really master steps and sets in our position.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Working with our strength coach at VSU along with other professional offensive line trainers to prepare myself for a pro day along with continue to sharpen my ability. All I need is an opportunity and I believe I will showcase that I can play at the next level.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I take pride in my leadership ability on and off the field. Being able to learn from mistakes, do the right things, and take pride in being great for your team is something that I’ve been very proud of myself in.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
In a position about experience and ability, I have 51 college football starts between division 1 and division 2. I’ve been All conference, All region, and/or all American each of my 4 years as a player. With all of that I am relentless in my work and dedication to being great as a team member and as an individual. While I’ve played offensive tackle for the bulk of my collegiate career I am an offensive linemen who believes I can play all 5 positions if needed at the next level.
