Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Thriving as a leader and setting a standard for myself and my teammates was by far my biggest goal and focus this season as a 5th year senior. I wanted to lead in the best way I knew possible, by example and action. I took pride in holding our offense and Oline unit accountable for committing to the grind day in and day out. With multiple players on the All-Conference list including myself, I’d like to feel we succeeded as a group!
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would tell you that I am truly dedicated to the game and hate to lose more than I love to win. Whether it be playing through injuries, playing multiple positions, embracing tough situations, working hard, etc. it is all for the same purpose. To succeed as a team and get positive results!
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Footwork and hands are the main focus for me. I’m always watching to see how I can execute my steps better and to make sure that I’m playing with a good base. For hands, I focus on my punch and proper hand placement. I believe a great punch and the right hand placement will transform you from a good to a great player!
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Intelligence and versatility. Playing all positions throughout my collegiate career allowed me to grow as a versatile and intelligent player. I had to know and be able to execute every position on the line at any moment. I embraced this challenge because it crafted me into so much of a better all around lineman and high IQ player.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Committing to the meticulous craft and grind of mastering the Oline position. This includes multiple training aspects like strength, power, agility, explosiveness, mobility, footwork, hand work, etc. But it also includes lifestyle aspects like nutrition and elevation of mind, body, and spirit.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I would say my biggest strength is my killer instinct. I live by a dog eat dog mentality and that shows on and off the field. It allows me to bring an intensity and energy level to the game that is radiating for everyone around me. When you want it more than anyone else does, people tend to feed off that and work to bring themselves to that level! This creates positive results and success for not only for myself but more importantly my teammates.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Getting me means you are getting a player that is more obsessed with the process and craft than the results. My daily goal is to get 1% better and work towards greatness. If you put the work in consistently, the results will show!
