What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

I wanted to win a conference championship, earn a playoff bid, and win a national championship. The only individual goals I had were staying healthy and being the best player I could for my team because I believe everything else falls into place. This year, I ended up being second team all conference and winner of the Chuck Boone award of Leadership and Excellence for the conference.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I got to develop every part of who I am as a player and person. I am always trying to get better and grow. I unfortunately suffered a freak injury in a lisfranc tear but I decided to work on my upper body strength and muscle conditioning while I had to be off my foot. This helped increase my arm strength especially in off platform throws. I was also able to mentally learn more about the offense and our scheme as we tweaked things throughout the long off season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say that I am a relentless worker, a natural leader, and someone who always tried to leave my jersey in a better spot than I found it.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When it comes to off-season training I go back and look at all the plays from the season and try to find one to two things that I need to work. This year it is my footwork and play fakes. When I’m in season I do a self scout and figure out if there is a particular scheme, blitz, or coverage that I struggled with. Once I identify something I work through it because it will most likely come up more the next week.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I am meticulously detailed and intentional in everything I do. I am also an anticipatory player where I know what is happening on the field before the ball is snapped. This allows me to slow the game down and play fast even if things are getting hectic around me.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I signed with Dynamic Sports Group and will be training in San Diego to get prepared physically and mentally.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The same things that my coaches and teammates would say about me is what NFL teams would see. I am a high character guy who elevates the people around him.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Let’s make history.
