Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Some of the goals I had heading into my final season at Bethany were that I was real focused on changing the momentum of the football game, creating turnovers, making it fun for my teammates out there on the field, elevating their game as well as elevating my game, polishing up the little flaws and mistakes I made during my junior season, and lastly making sure all 11 people on defense were bought into making plays to give our offense the ball to score.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Resilient, Focused, and Fast.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I will spend alot of time working on speed, power, and agility at Bonsu Elite Athletics in Ceres, CA. Other than working out physically, I will spend a lot of time on the board sharpening up my football IQ X’s and O’s to elevate the student of the game that is required for the next level.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When it comes to studying film, I put my focus on the assignment that was given to me (whatever that may be). I key in on watching for the cons to my opponents game, whether it be the way that individual blocks ex: sloppy or aggressive. Also, I focus on how he runs his routes and sees if he gives his routes away or if he’s good at selling his routes. I focus on the QB’s foot work, looking to see if he makes poor or good reads and watching the ball in the RB’s hands figuring out if the person is patient or timid when it comes to picking a hole or shooting a gap, learning foot work , pass pro, etc. I also add the pros to a person’s game to keep the game honest when it comes to Saturday. This all helps me determine how I’m going to play my opponent.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me from other players that play the same position as myself is I really pride myself on needing to make every single play. I also have to say my intelligence having field awareness, communicating, being very verbal with every one of my teammates, being resilient, and having the speed adds a certain uniqueness to my character.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths that I will bring to any pro team would be locker room presence since I pride myself on doing my absolute best out there on the field and making sure that I leave that field with big plays made. I will make sure that everyone is bought into being the same way in order to produce a win. More strengths would have to be my speed, intelligence, and being able to play my role coming in as a rookie. The ability that I will bring to a team would be listening, learning, having the ability to adapt to anything, and getting the job done well and efficiently.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
In conclusion, I would love to say that I am resilient, determined, and I choose to lead by example. I am not a person that you would have to worry about on or off the field and I am more than capable learning quickly and thoroughly, and that’s why I would be the best man for the job.
