Dallas Baldner: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Dallas Baldner
School: Valdosta State University
Position: Wide Receiver/Return Specialist
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 185

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals were to have an even better season than the year before, be the best teammate and playmaker for my team, and win a championship.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Smart, Quick, Consistent.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I played in the FCS and FBS bowl games. I plan on training either at my university or somewhere in Miami. I’m going to focus more on my lower body by doing explosive workouts.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

When I watch film on opponents, I look at their technique, advantages, and disadvantages. Then, I work on my craft and technique so that I can always beat them. I also look to see if they’re a team player or an individual because it makes a big difference in games.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My knowledge of the game, my ability to get separation and get open, and not being afraid to make a big block or make a big catch when I know I’m going to get hit.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My character. I’ll never embarrass myself or my team by acting like an individual on or off the field. Skill wise, I believe my strengths that stand out on the field are consistency, work ethic, and the will to win.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I may have come from a Division 2 school, but that means nothing. I know how to win my individual battle every snap so that I’m doing my job perfect for the other 10 men I’m playing with and for. I have an immense amount of love and respect for the game and I’ll give my all if I’m given a shot. That’s all I need and I promise I’ll prove everything that I’ve said to be true.
