What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Goals I set for myself for this past 2021 football year was to add more elements to my play and end my senior season changing our football team’s culture into a winning program. I was able to accomplish both with having the best record Muskingum has had in the last 20 years while playing both defensive and all phases off special teams.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I took advantage of this extra year by working more so on my weaknesses that my strengths. It was some what like a trial and error situation to me to see if my body could play with more weight. I was able to still move around and have the same type of mobility as I did when I was 208lbs.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
That I am a extremely gifted athlete for my size. I am a player that you can place anywhere on the field and will find a way to make a play. My coaches down from high school to college, trainers and teammates will attest to any team that drafts me that I am a very gifted athlete that has an extremely high motor & work ethic. Whether it is on defense or any special teams unit you can count that I’m looking to make a game changing play.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When looking and studying film on myself I tend to look at how heavy or light the offensive lineman is on his feet or hands. This helps me with knowing how quick I should time my get off or if I need to delay it if the bring a Y off the line of scrimmage, also helps my know where I need my Hand Placement to be, were my eyes in the right place, and how much my body language has changed during the course of the game or practice film.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My motor is extremely high with having the ability to line up at DE or DT and rush the quarterback or play LB and play in coverage whether it be man or zone coverage.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Continuing with my training regimen, adding more muscle to my frame and continue to find any weak spots in my game that I have and improve upon them.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My motor, work ethic, and relentlessness to go make plays on all phases of the ball is what drives me to be the very best on the field. The film will go to show NFL teams that I have an extremely high motor and a nose for the football. With my versatility to either rush the quarterback or stand up and cover wide receivers and tight ends, I know I can be a great fit for defensive schemes NFL teams use today.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Whatever happens I know that it is Gods plan to set me up for my next chapter in life. Your getting an extremely gifted athlete who prides himself on being the best at what he does. Outworking my opponent is in my DNA and won’t stop until I reach my goal which is playing professional ball wherever it may be. Your going to get a player who is a natural born leader and has the leadership qualities along with the playmaking ability to help shift an NFL, CFL or any other Pro Football League teams culture.
