What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goals this season was to be at least all conference, and play some of the best football that I have played. I was rewarded 3rd team all G-MAC.
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I took advantage of my extra year by really focusing on technique and getting stronger and faster, while also being in great shape. I realized that I wasn’t gonna be the biggest but I sure was gonna play like I was.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think my coaches and teammates would say I am a hard worker when it’s time to clock in but goofy and outside of football. Also I lead by example, and energetic both on and off the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film I focus on the little things. Things like where my first step was, hand placement, and angles. Also I like to see what tendencies our opponents have. I take these notes and put them to practice. Whatever I got to do to get the upper hand.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I would say my heart, my athleticism, and willingness to fight. In life you are going to get knocked down, but it’s about getting up or staying down. Not only do I get up but I will get up faster than getting knocked down.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season is really just to love the grind because not many people have this opportunity. So I’m just taking it all in and going hard like it is my last time because you never know.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths that I’ll bring to a team on and off the field are being accountable and doing everything with integrity. On and off the field, you will be getting my 100% out of me.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am blessed to be in this position. All I’d like to say is check me out. You can measure everything except my heart. All I need is a chance.
