Name: Chad Broome-Webster II

Position: OT
Height: 6-5

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My senior season I was 1st team Phil Steele All-Ivy and an Academic All-Ivy selection. I was also recognized by the National Football Foundation as a William V. Campbell “Academic Heisman” Semifinalist as well as a Hampshire Honor Society member. In addition, I was able to represent Brown and the Ivy League with a win in the Tokyo Dream Bowl against Japan’s national team.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
One that leads by example, is a high level competitor and loves the game of football.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I am preparing for an opponent, I like to picture myself in the shoes of the other offensive linemen we are watching. I’ll pick a certain play that we have queued up for the week and go through everything I would do with the given defensive look. When I am going over our own game film from the past week, I’ll go over what I could have done to execute the play we ran perfectly. Even if I got a pancake, I always feel as though there are little things I can correct.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
Coming out of high school I was about 70 pounds lighter and playing defensive end. Throughout my time at Brown I was able to put on good weight yet still move well as a tackle. My unique experience on the defensive side helps a lot playing offense because I have a window into the mind of the defensive linemen we face. That on top of my love for film study enables me to anticipate certain defensive looks before they happen. I also attribute it to the incredible coaches I have had along my football journey who have ingrained into my head the importance of watching film and knowing your opponents.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I have been training back home in Florida with a former professional football player that trains those who are currently playing or looking to play professionally. I also plan to add some versatility to my game by working on my ability to snap the football.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a student of the game. I love watching film and picking up on little things that can give me an advantage on the football field. In addition, I feel as though my versatility on the field can help me at the next level. I have played several snaps at both left and right tackle. Also, I have played within the interior during certain game scenarios. We even had a couple trick plays where I was lined up at wideout.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am addicted to the game of football. Every time I am away from it I grow to love it more and more. During COVID I was chomping at the bit to get back on the football field. I am just so grateful to those around me who have pushed me to get to the position I am at today and hope there is a lot more football in my future. Thank you.
