Cassius Johnson: 2022 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Cassius Johnson
School: University of San Diego
Position: CB
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 180

What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

One goal was to win another conference championship to finish out my college career on a high note. It took a lot of work, but ultimately it was a team effort.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

The extra year of eligibility gave me more game experience. You are always getting bigger, faster, and stronger, doing more drills and practicing. But there is nothing like a live competition. My head coach says that I stepped my game up to another level.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say that I always give 110%, whether it is in the weight room or during practice I lead by example. I am always focused on improving my skills and abilities to make our team the best it can be.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on my footwork and body position as well as reads and opponent tendencies.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

Nobody can outwork me. Nobody can out-condition me. I refuse to let that happen.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I train everyday at one of the top facilities on the East Coast. I have a long-time relationship with the staff, and my strength, speed, and agility have increased with each off-season. Numerous current and former professional athletes train there as well.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My character, my determination, and my willingness to keep learning and do whatever it takes.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I am one of the best decisions you will ever make.
