Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Be a National Champion, Conference Champion, All-American, and All-Conference selection. I wanted to continue to be a leader on my team, to be someone all of my teammates could respect as player, and also as a man.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Complete, tough, and explosive.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
My strength and conditioning coach has given me workouts and I primarily do them in the weight room on campus. The workouts include different things like speed, agility, regular strength, and core strength. For me right now, it’s about maintaining strength and getting even faster.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I look at defensive fronts. I want to see what front I can expect to see. An Even, Odd, Bear, 50 front, etc. I look at the D-line and how they play the run to see what holes I can expect to hit. I also look at where the LBs are lined up and how they play the run. Are they fast to the gap or are they patient? In pass protection, I want know where I can expect them to blitz from and if they’re bull rushers or finesse rushers.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I’m a complete back. I can run between the Tackles or the outside. I can catch the ball out of the backfield or if you split me out. Also, I’m very reliable in pass protection.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I’m a student of the game. I will take the time to learn what I need to learn to reach success. Also, my mindset. I want to make a impact for Christ on the team as well as the community I get the chance to live in.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
If you want a guy that’s gonna work his tail off from Day 1 and be a positive influence on your organization, I’m your guy. I love this game and every time I step on the field, I want everyone to know it.
