Caleb Thomas: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Caleb Thomas
School: Texas A&M Kingsville
Position: TE
Height: 6-7
Weight: 240

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Last year our team started off real hot going 7-0 then we lost 5 straight. One major goal I had after that was to finish the season on a better note and put myself on the radar of pro teams.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

A Leader and vocal teammate who uplifts those around him shows up to work everyday with the mindset to improve.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When watching my position I focus on seeing what adjustments other players make to how defenses play them also their footwork hand placement and leverage when matched up whether it’s blocking or receiving. When watching opponents I like to view their tendencies whether they like to be overly physical or are they more technical/ good with their hands. With DBs what routes move them out of their leverage and what moves threaten them, many players have tells to show what coverage they’re in.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My physical archetype, athleticism, resiliency, and attention to detail.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I plan on working on the deficiencies I identified through the season, On top of ensuring I keep my physical and mental conditioning in peak form.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My versatility and willingness to do what’s necessary to win. I understand special teams are a vital phase of the game and have experience playing multiple positions and schemes whether it’s Punt Punt return kickoff or kickoff return.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I haven’t been playing Tight end very long, So I feel like there is a lot more for me to learn and improve on whether it’s consistency every snap with technique or developing more physically in order to capitalize on my potential. When choosing to invest into me you’ll get a person who wishes to impact not only teammates but everyone within the organization positively, challenge myself and others to be the best version of themselves everyday.
