Name: Brock Mogensen
School: University of South Dakota
Position: LB
Height: 6-2
Weight: 235
Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The first goal that I set for this year was to win a Missouri Valley football championship and the National Championship. I also set out to be one of the top LB’s in the conference. Although the first goal did not go as planned our team improved immensely from last year. As for my individual goal, I was a 1st team AP All American, the Defensive Player of the Year in the Valley, and was a 1st Team All-Conference Linebacker.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would describe me as a humble leader who leads vocally and by example. I would also say they would describe me as one of the hardest workers on the team, and a player who is always trying to improve his play.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I study film, I like to look at the tendencies of the other team and try to pick up on different plays that are run out of each formation to keep me one step ahead while I am playing. I also like to think of a defensive call that we would play to a certain personnel or formation and put myself in that moment to see how I would respond to the play.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The things that separate me the most I would say are my knowledge of the game, my sideline-to-sideline ability, my physicality, and my experience. I have always been a student of the game and believe my knowledge on the field helps me to play faster. I also enjoy the physicality and the violence of the game and believe that playing in the Missouri Valley has prepared me for my next step.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
As of right now a couple of training facilities have reached out to me so I will train to get ready for my pro day, but I am still waiting to see if I can get an agent.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths and abilities I will bring on the field are my knowledge of the game, my effort, and my attitude. Off the field I am a player who is always studying the game and I am someone who makes smart decisions when I am away from football.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am a student of the game, a hard-working, violent player, coachable and a player who will give his best effort on every play. I can learn quickly and will be a guy who will do the right things on and off the field and will do whatever a team needs from him. I have been underrated my whole career and have ran with every opportunity I have been given.
