Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Goals and accomplishments i set for myself during my senior year were to be an all conference quarterback that was the best teammate I could be. It was fun taking an approach of wanting to lead younger guys, and seeing them grow into be awesome dudes! My career stats are 5,000+ yards and school career record 64 TDS. I also hold the record for a single yards thrown and TDs in a game at 659yds and 7 TDs.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I hope my teammates and coaches would say i am a fierce competitor, that tried to bring the best out of my teammates in practice and in the game. Someone who would stand behind them and have their back no matter what.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
Film study is a huge part of the game for me. Usually on Monday I like to watch a full game of the opponent to be familiar with their personnel…I’ll look for genetic basic things as far as what coverage, front, and base their in. Tuesday and Wednesday i like to go further into which corner or safety is the weakest, and each players tendencies, and then Thursday and Friday i usually do a self quiz about where coverage, front, and how they line up to each formation.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other pro prospects is my ability to understand the game in depth, at every level. Being a part of 3 different offenses in college i am able to pick up a complex system fairly quickly. I will compete at at level to be the best, including the next level. I can throw it as good as anybody, and know how to extend plays with pocket presence or my feet.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My offseason plan before COVID-19 was a routine basis. Would workout and go through footwork drills and throw, but when the virus hit it’s causing me to get more creative through different variations. I am getting my workouts through a strength and conditioning company located in Dallas/ Fort Worth area, called Performance Course. They have an extensive training program called Elite Training Academy that has modifications for equipment, and straight body weight. Unbelievable stuff!
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think one area that I pride myself in is being the best teammate i can be, on and off the field. A teammate that truly cares about the team and has a we over me mentality. I don’t like stats as much as i like to win.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?
My last pitch to pro leagues are you won’t find a better teammate that can produce and contribute to the team’s overall success!
