Breon Foust: 2020 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Breon Foust
School: North Carolina Wesleyan
Position: G
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 320

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The individual goals I set was to get bigger, faster, and stronger heading into my senior season. What I was able to accomplish was making first team all conference, making an all region team and breaking the record for having the most consecutive starts by an offensive lineman in North Carolina Wesleyan history. As a team, we went 6-4, our first winning season since 2010. Although we had high expectations as a team, we were unable to make the playoffs. I feel like I have made great memories here at NC Wesleyan and we have grown as a team. This season was very fun and playing with this team made me realize that this was one of the best group of guys I’ve ever had a chance to go play football with.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My teammates and coaches would describe me as a physical, dominant, blue collar worker. A humble and selfless player, I believe that actions are better than words so I let my play do the talking. I was able to be a key contributor to this football team which allowed me the opportunity to be a great leader on and off the field.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

While studying film, I usually look at my opponents tendencies. The tendencies I study for my individual matchup is if they are a power guy or a speed guy. Such as if they like to use the power move, spin move, swim move, etc.. I also like to look at if they have a quick first step or if he is good at timing the snap count. When studying my own film, I look at ways I can improve my game. Such as having a better technique, having better footwork and making sure I am giving 100 percent effort every single snap.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from other pro prospects would be that I have a high IQ for the game. I know what it takes to be successful and having to work hard day in and day out. I am very competitive and highly motivated.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

During the off-season, I plan on continuing to get bigger, faster and stronger. I want to work on my speed, improving my 40 time and doing footwork drills. I will do whatever it takes to make it to the next level.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

First and foremost, you are getting a player who is very passionate about the game, someone who loves to compete and is willing to work hard to get the job done. Also you are getting a high character , respectful, coachable player who is willing to learn and do what’s best for the team.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL or any other pro leagues?

Coming from a small school, I have a chip on my shoulder because I feel like I can compete at any collegiate level. By having a small school background, I am more focused and determined than ever to prove that small school players can play ball too. I am willing to prove myself to anyone that gives me a chance at the professional level.
