Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The main goal I had in 2021 was to win the ACC Championship. We almost achieved it by getting to the ACC Championship but we came up short against Pittsburgh. Personal goals of mine were all accomplished. I was an all ACC player and scored my first career touchdown (ended with 3 on the year).
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
The extra year was a blessing in disguise for me. I took that time to change my body to become more of a receiving threat. Doing so gave me that extra step to get open and finish tough receptions. I feel showing I can be a receiving threat helped my chances of a team taking a chance on me.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say I am a dependable guy who loves football. I am willing to give it my all whenever I am on the field. I am reliable on and off the field which is a big reason I was voted a captain for 2 straight years.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When watching film I look for tendencies of my opponent. Defensive ends, how they play the run, whether they are more of a gap player or if they play into the hip. The eyes of DB’s to see if they disguise pressure. LB movement pre snap for potentially plugging etc. I also look at personel and see how hard my opponents play to find their weaknesses.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I am a player that takes on coaching in a positive manner. I always want to get better and I bring that same energy daily. I also bring long-snapping to the table.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan is to lift 5 days a week and do field work 3 days a week. It important to get better and make gains but it’s also important to stay healthy so when I do get an opportunity I am ready for it.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a guy who works hard and does things the right way. I am a tight end who blocks and catches with equal effort. Everything I do is with purpose and effort. I am willing to play anywhere on the field to help my team win. I’ve done special teams for 5 years and have the ability to long snap.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
If you take a chance on me you will be getting a guy that loves football and will give you all he has.
