Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Some of the goals that I had going into my Senior season was to first win the starting job. After accomplishing that, it was to do everything in my power to help my team win on Saturdays.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Leader, calm, and consistent.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I just finished up training in Orlando, FL with Adam Tanalski and the Hammer Kicking Academy, which prepared me to play in the Tropical Bowl. I now will train in Buffalo, NY with Adam in preparation for a camp in Arizona at the end of February and also Arkansas pro day.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When watching film, I watch all phases of special teams to see if I can pick up on any tendencies that the coaches may not find. I then focus on the opposing team’s punt block/return unit to see who focuses on blocking me and also how dynamic the returner is. Finally, I prepare for field goal by understanding where the rush is coming from, which side the Nose Guard shades, and the certain situations the opposing team loads the A gaps for a rush.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
What separates me from other players at my position is the dedication I have to not only make myself better on a day to day basis, but I always try to make the others around me better, whether it’s within football or not.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The strengths and abilities I bring to a team on the field is the ability to prepare and play at the NFL/CFL level. I understand what teams are looking for and am always correcting my craft. Off of the field, I bring more then just knowledge about the game. I’m a person that has everyone’s best interests at hand and am always striving to help everyone around me be successful.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
If I was given the opportunity to play on a NFL team, you wouldn’t have just another player on your team. You would have a player that never backs down, always strives for the best, and is living out his dream. I have always been one to work my hardest and get my teammates to work hard with me, so we can all achieve the one goal, win. This team would be my family and I’d do anything for my family, support them, help them, and work hard with them.
