Andrew Bonfiglio: 2018 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Andrew Bonfiglio
School: Trine University
Position: Wide Receiver
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 190

Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?

To help my team win a conference championship. After 3 years of coming up short, we were able to get the job done this past season and win it.

Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?

Calm, Quick, and Deceptive.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’m training now the same way I always have, with lots of quickness and explosive work along with lots of work on routes and technique.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?

I look for Defensive Back tendencies, like when they will turn their hips and run and how that varies in different coverages. I also look at what other Wide Receivers have done to win against Defensive Backs on certain routes.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I am able to run full speed, drop my hips, and get out of a break in 3 or 4 steps every time and come down hill giving a Defensive Back no time to react to my route. This, along with my hands, make me different from others playing my position.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My effort level in games and practice are the same, which builds competition and makes others better as well as myself.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I run routes at full speed and get out of breaks very quickly. I am able to consistently win vs Defensive Backs that are more athletic than me, and if the ball hits my hands I am going to catch it. You can see all these things in my film.
