Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
My ultimate goal heading into my senior season was to be a full time starter and I was able to accomplish that. On the contrary, I also set bigger goals that I wasn’t able to accomplish due to my injury.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would say I am very competitive, hard working, leads by example, and a player who is willing to do the dirty work.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying practice film I focus on the little things such as, my stance, footwork, how I get out of my breaks, however, when I’m studying opponent film I focus on players tendencies. Some players especially receivers and linemen give away so much with just their stance.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
Most players at my position are either playing corner or safety. I can play both. I can come down be a hybrid safety/linebacker but I can also get back and play the middle of the field at free safety.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I will be training in New York with a trainer who specifically train athletes getting ready to go pro.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
On the field, my strengths are: my tackling ability, I am a sure tackler, my ability to play many positions on defense, and my ability to make an impact on special teams is what separate me from others. Off the field I’m eager to learn more. I’m the type of player that asks a lot of questions like “ why are we doing it this way?” “ what can we do to make it better?”
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I play bigger than what I measure at. I am a player who does a lot of the dirty work. I can make an impact right away with my ability to play special teams. I’m constantly working on my craft and getting better at it everyday.
