Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
I went into this season with the goal to do everything I can to help our team win. Even though I did want to compete to be the best running back in my conference, I wanted to send our seniors out with a bang and be the one to lead them to a winning season. Even though that didn’t happen, I had a great senior year with my guys and as a running back.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
If I could describe my style in three words, it would be decisive, aggressive, and fast.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I will be training for more explosiveness and working to be a more complete running back. Catching a lot of balls and building my strength, so I can be able to pick up blocks better and be more effective at it.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
When I study film, I look for tendencies from the defense. For example, a couple things I look for is how the safeties shift down when it’s pressure coming to either side. I watch linebackers pressure give aways, favorite moves to use, and who blitzes more frequently. Also, the D-line for who to help double team on and how they flow. Things like that.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
One thing I believe will separate me from other players is my work ethic and drive, whether that’s to get a play down or it is to get steps down. I’m going to make sure I get it down and am ready to play fast. Also, very dedicated in perfecting my craft and being the best I could be.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One kind of strength I would bring to a team on and off the field is I know how to grind. I take pride in that because I’ve had to do it my whole life, so if there’s something that needs to be done or something that I can do to make the team better, I’ll be that guy.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My final pitch is the proof is in the pudding, if you want a play maker whether it’s running back or special teams, I’m the guy for it. 1st team all-conference running back, only running back to reach 1,000 yards during the season. Finish second in the league in All-purpose yards and finished 19 in the country in FBS. Very hard worker with the love of the game burning inside. Anyone who takes a chance on me will get a hidden gem that will impact any team.
