Name: Roper Garrett
College: Southeast Missouri State
Position: Inside Linebacker
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 235
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Roper: Physical/ Competitive/ Professional (on and off the field).
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Roper: I’ve been training since the season was over by going to Frisco, TX and training at EXOS. It’s one of the best training companies in the business.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Roper: If I could compare myself to a current player, it would be Sean Lee of the Dallas Cowboys. I feel that we have the same type of mentality, always the first one to the ball. A technician on and off the field with our skills. Always trying to out work everyone to perfect our craft as LB.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Roper: When I’m watching film, I look for other teams tendencies and weaknesses so I can exploit them on the field.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Roper: The thing I think that separates me from the others at my position is my competitive nature. I hate to lose and I will do anything to win and that goes for on and off the field as well.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Roper: My ability to lead and be a leader both on and off the field is probably the biggest thing I can bring to a team. I won’t just make myself better, I will help my teammates play to the best of their abilities by pushing them on and off the field to be the best.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Roper: My final sell to a professional team would be that you’re not just getting a guy that will be there week one. You’re getting a guy that will be playing his heart out after week 17 through pain and injury no matter what it takes.
Roper Garrett would be an asset to any team, community and state that chooses him to represent their NFL team. We are so proud of you ROPER!!!
