Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Conner: Smart, Physical, and Versatile.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Conner: I have been training with Paul Kiezer at the D1 training facility in Sioux Falls, SD since mid December. He has worked with several current and former NFL players.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Conner: I would compare myself to Owen Daniels. We both are very similar in size and versatility. He is able to block in line and also run routes from anywhere on the field.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Conner: While watching film, I like to recognize coverage and the defensive front right away. When breaking down the coverage further, I like to see if the DB’s and LB’s like to get hands on or not. I also like to see what types of tendencies the defense has for coverage on certain downs/distance and in the red zone. When further breaking down the front seven I look for certain techniques being played by the defensive line and linebacker cheats in order to pick up on stunts and blitzes.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Conner: My versatility separates me from other players at my position. I am able to both run routes and block from anywhere on the football field. Few tight ends can both block and catch the ball effectively.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Conner: I bring a work ethic that is second to none. Whether it’s on the field or off, I try to do things the right way all the time.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Conner: The final pitch to scouts is that they are going to get a player that has a burning desire to constantly improve his game and win football games. I am willing to play several positions including special teams in order to help the team win.
