Name: Jaydon Brunson
School: Grambling State University/SC State
Position: Safety/Nickel
Height: 5-9

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
During my senior season, i wanted to be dominant. I had my mind set on no matter how tired I am, I would make EVERY play that came my way. I had to re learn a new type of defense, I wanted to be a leader on the field, we struggled on everybody knowing their responsibility on certain plays, but with my on field communication, i made sure we were all on 1 accord, which led to us being the #3 passing defense in the SWAC.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I am a relentless football player, I treat practice like an actual game, everyday I wake up with a chip on my shoulder because I want what’s at the top of the pyramid & I felt as if my height was restricting my success. I’ve been dominate in this sport ever since I was a kid. I’ve sacrificed everything to be who I am, therefore I play every game like it’s my last.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
As a DB group, we would watch film on ourself & our opponent 3 times a day, but I still took my personal time to watch, I would focus on formations, & what would come in those formations, reading Alignments is key. Certain plays give hints to what’s about to come. I pick up on all those little things while watching film to make me play a step faster.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is my on field leadership, my on field communication is loud, I make sure everyone is aligned right. With me being a safety I had to cover sideline to sideline. I hit with a purpose & I cover with a purpose. I play to win, I don’t play to “try not to lose”
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
During the offseason I am training in my hometown with the people who got me to this point. Every morning I lift and go through every combine drill, I’m going to make sure the scouts notice me.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I will bring a relentless mindset to my team, I would be the player that plays at 110% every snap. I’m intentionally selfish, meaning I’m going to do my responsibility to the fullest but I won’t allow you to play different than your best.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Lastly, to any team who decides to take a chance on me. You’re getting a dog, who has been grinding to prove people wrong ever since 2014.
