Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My last year at state I set a goal to play at my best ability so our team could make it to the MEAC championship. We lost to North Carolina Central, but we beat Howard so the road to the Championship looked good. Unfortunately we came up short losing to Morgan State in a hard fought battle!
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
If anyone was to ask my coaches or teammates how I am as a player they would say i’m a hardworking and determined type of guy. Im not a big people person but I love putting a smile on people’s faces and I love to have a good time, when the time is necessary.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film I tend to watch on how I played, I try to focus on my get offs, hands, and steps and whenever i’m done I switch over to watch my opponents to see what tendencies I can pick up on to help me get a one up on them. I try to take notes on how they move and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
The main thing that separates me from everybody else is that I’m one of one. I feel like nobody else works as hard as me and has more heart than me. I also stay out of trouble on and off the field and I take my business very seriously.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan for the offseason is to work my tail off with my team and continue to work on my craft so when the opportunity comes for me to showcase my skills, I’ll be ready!
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
To a team I can bring energy on and off the field. I believe the right energy can carry a team to do great things. Energy is key to a championship caliber team because everybody has their days but as long as somebody is around with great energy it could carry on to others teammates.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I’m a man who loves to work and perfect my craft. I’ve fought through plenty of adversity so I never back down from a challenge. Playing Offensive Guard my first 2 years at South Carolina State humbled me and taught me to not give up but to keep working and stay down until it was my time. When my coach moved me to Defensive Tackle the spring of my sophomore season I knew my hard work payed off. With that being said I love adversity because it definitely brings out the best in me. If you were to pick me just know you’re bringing somebody with a lion heart and somebody who will always push themselves past their limits.
