Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
My goals for my senior season were to be a good role model to my younger teammates and find better ways to lead and serve my teammates and coaches. I set goals to increase my completion percentage and my down field accuracy. In terms of winning, my goal is always a National Championship.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches would say I’m a selfless plaver who is team oriented. They would say that I am intelligent and know the game of football very well. I am open to helping other players and being a coach on the field. They will also tell you that I hold myself and others accountable. They will tell you that I always give 100% effort between the lines, and I would sacrifice my body to win games. They would tell you that I am a leader off the field when it comes to helping players stay on the right path or helping them make right choices during their college career as well.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When studying film. I study cutups of plays or coverages. I bunch all the same plays/ coverages together and see how the defense likes to react to motions or alignments. I also study tendencies to see what teams do in passing downs, run downs, and red zone. When studying film on myself. I often pay attention to my feet and timeliness of my throws. Focusing on throwing into windows and having my feet ready to do so.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other QB’s in this class is my ability to adapt and be plugged into any style offense. I’ve run pro style, spread, wing T, and triple option throughout my career and I believe that skill set has only gotten more refined over time. Also what sets me apart is my football IQ and age. At 27, I am not the normal college grad age, I believed my time around the game has allowed me an advantage in terms of understanding football and slowing the game down in my mind. I’m also a Back to Back National Champion and lost a total of 4 games at Ferris State.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plan this off-season is to stay 100% healthy while training in Ohio with T3 Performance.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think my off the field strenaths are my ability to bring people together. I believed that is important on a team when everyone isn’t the same and they need forms of commonality. I also am very business/entrepreneur oriented and love growing businesses and bringing energy and ideas to companies and teams. I think my on the field abilities speak for themselves. I believe my arm talent and accuracy are a big weapon on the field. To follow that up, my ability to escape pressure and make off script plays into big plays is a big part of my game. I make big throws under pressure and can play from the pocket or on the perimeter both running and passing.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I believe in myself and my ability to put my head down and work and am confident and prepared to enter this next chapter in my football career. I take nothing for granted and am thankful for the career l’ve had so far. This is only the beginning.
