Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My teammates and coaches would say I am a leader and competitor who is tough and out prepares everyone. I pride myself on being the guy my coaches can rely on to control the game and be successful in key moments. There is no moment too big for me. I’ve put in countless extra hours on the field and in the film room with my teammates to make sure everyone is prepared for any situation.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I watch film I focus on my technique, our gameplan, and defensive tendencies. My technique is an important part of my game that has many different components to it. It’s important I stay balanced in my stance and throughout my throw with my lower body still being violent. I also keep my left arm tight while making sure my follow through on the throw is straight and I’m not over rotating. As far as our gameplan and defensive tendencies, the first part of our offense I focus on is protections. I look for certain looks from the defense that would give our protections trouble. Once that’s identified, we go over what checks that I can make to put our offense in a better position whether that is changing the protection or the whole play. Then I focus on the coverages the defense runs to certain offensive formation looks and compare the plays we have in that week and see how the defense will try to cover it. This helps me know which defenders to read on certain plays to help give myself the best chance to succeed.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

My football IQ is what separates me. It gives me the confidence needed at this position to be successful and helps me understand how to prepare year round. I have always done and will continue to do whatever it takes to win. I am the hardest worker on and off the field. I grew up playing multiple sports and have been in many big games where I was the guy to make the game winning throw, game winning shot, or game winning hit. I’ve been in the big moments and rely on my preparation in the film room, weight room, and on the field to be successful.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I will be training with both my dad Mike Hohensee and quarterback coach Justin Hoover in Kansas City getting ready for any opportunity that comes my way. I am still looking for a facility to workout train.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

A strength of mine is my football IQ. Throughout my college career, I’ve taken snaps at quarterback, punter, running back, safety, holder, and receiver. Before I was the starting quarterback, I was moved all over the field and did whatever my coaches asked me so the team could succeed. Another strength of mine is my preparation. Not only do I make sure I’m prepared, but I make sure everyone on the offense is on the same page physically and mentally so when it’s gameday we are playing fast and efficiently.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Everyday you will get the best version of me. I’ve known nothing except giving 100% in everything I do to ensure that my team is successful. Everything I’ve done has been to prepare me to compete at the highest level and I am ready to do whatever the team needs and learn how to be great.
