Name: Chris Hoffman
College: Muskingum
Position: Offensive Lineman
Height: 6’5″
Weight: 310
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Chris: Competitive, Powerful, and Intelligent.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Chris: I have been training at my university with other players who have similar goals to mine. At my school, I have been able to do a variety of power, explosion, and cardio workouts to help prepare me for the next level.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Chris: Former Cincinnati Bengals Offensive Lineman Anthony Munoz. The reason I say that is because when watching film of him, he is a very powerful and a heavy-handed player who has the mentality that nobody is going to beat him and that he will do everything in his power to make sure nobody does.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Chris: I look at the different ways that the players in the box line up. I watch for correlations between the defensive lineman’s hand that is down or leg that is up and where that player goes once the ball is snapped. I also watch for their alignment on the line of scrimmage and if that gives away any stunt or blitz schemes of any sort.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Chris: The thing that separates me is my hunger for greatness. Ever since coming to a small college to play, I have been told that just because I went to where I did, I’m not good enough to play with the players at higher divisions. It has been my goal ever since I came here to prove everyone who doubted me wrong and show to them that I am good enough to compete with the NFL players on Sundays. So the thing that separates me, is my grit and determination to be the greatest.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Chris: The abilities that I bring to a team is my leadership and work ethic. I also believe that my dedication to give back to the community is another attribute that I embody. I think that in order to be the best person and player that you can be, you must be well-rounded. You must strive to be perfect, whether that is in the weight room, film room, practice field, on game day, or going out in the community and helping those less fortunate, and I hold myself to those high standards.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Chris: I am the player you have been looking for. I am the hardest working, most determined player around and all I need is that opportunity to prove it to you! So pick me, I promise you will not regret it.
